Tips for Choosing Your Team Name
- Keep it short enough to say aloud. The quizmaster will have to announce your team name at the start and after every round. Something snappy lands better than a paragraph.
- Make it relevant to your group. An inside joke or reference to someone in the team is always funnier than a generic pun the internet told you to use.
- Aim for a groan, not a silence. The best pub quiz team names make the quizmaster audibly wince. If they laugh, you've nailed it. If the room is silent, go back to the drawing board.
- Check it works on paper. Quizmasters often write team names on a scoreboard. Make sure yours is spellable and not three lines long.
- Commit to it. The worst quiz teams are the ones who spend ten minutes arguing about the name and never decide. Pick one and own it.
